Oklahoma rules
Is a home elevator regulated in Oklahoma?
Who oversees elevators: Oklahoma Department of Labor, Elevator/Escalator Program (Oklahoma City runs its own inspections).
Elevators in private homes
Mostly exempt. The Act does not apply to elevators in an existing owner-occupied private residence, but the rules still require home elevators to meet the ASME code, pass a final acceptance inspection when new, be tested by a licensed mechanic or inspector before the home is sold, and have incidents reported (OAC 380:70-3-5).

Installer licences
Companies: Yes. Elevator contractors must be licensed by the state (59 O.S. 3021; OAC 380:70-5-1).
Mechanics: Yes. Elevator mechanics must be licensed by the state (OAC 380:70-5-2).
Elevator code adopted: ASME A17.1, latest edition and addenda (OAC 380:70-3-4).
